    The Utility Truck Series

These trucks used an Oldsmobile 230ci side valve engine (same as the passenger car line) and 3 speed transmission with a 4 speed being optional.  The Utility Truck was offered as a 1 ton (5800lb gross) model and a lower rated 5040lb gross capacity model. Tyre size for the 1 ton model was 7.00 x 17" while the 5040lb model used 6.50 x 16" (same as the Passenger car for '37).  Available bodies listed were the panel van (pictured below), Drop Side tray and a Flat tray model.

    The 2½ Ton Series

This series used the same Oldsmobile 230ci side valve engine but a 4 speed transmission was standard equipment. Standard equipment also included single rear wheels with dual wheels being an option.  The only body styles for this series seem to be the Flat tray and the Drop side models.

    The Forward Control Series

The 1937 model year marked the introduction of the "Forward Control" series of Oldsmobile trucks.  This series used the same basic Oldsmobile 230ci side valve engine as the conventional truck but was made available in a 3 ton (13,000lb) and 4 ton (16,650lb) version.   Wheel base for the 3 ton was 130" while the 4 ton was increased to 155".  The 4 ton was equipped with a 2 speed rear axle, vacuum assisted brakes and larger 7.50 x 20" tyres (6.50 x 20" for the 3 ton).
