![]() The Utility Truck Series These trucks used an Oldsmobile 230ci side valve engine (same as the passenger car line) and 3 speed transmission with a 4 speed being optional. The Utility Truck was offered as a 1 ton (5800lb gross) model and a lower rated 5040lb gross capacity model. Tyre size for the 1 ton model was 7.00 x 17" while the 5040lb model used 6.50 x 16" (same as the Passenger car for '37). Available bodies listed were the panel van (pictured below), Drop Side tray and a Flat tray model.

This series used the same Oldsmobile 230ci side valve engine but a 4 speed transmission was standard equipment. Standard equipment also included single rear wheels with dual wheels being an option. The only body styles for this series seem to be the Flat tray and the Drop side models.

The
Forward Control Series The 1937 model year marked the introduction of the "Forward
Control" series of Oldsmobile trucks. This series used the same
basic Oldsmobile 230ci side valve engine as the conventional truck but
was made available in a 3 ton (13,000lb) and 4 ton (16,650lb) version.
Wheel base for the 3 ton was 130" while the 4 ton was increased to
155". The 4 ton was equipped with a 2 speed rear axle, vacuum
assisted brakes and larger 7.50 x 20" tyres (6.50 x 20" for the
